2000 Saw a shortage of players again at the club, but team spirit was high with a team of mainly rookies and some vets still remaining, the team played on with Martin Jefkins taking on the role of head coach. The Exiles played the 2000 season with out getting a win, their old rivals Maidstone beating them twice. the Exiles played some very tough competition and played very hard though.
As you can see this was the worst season in the history of the Exiles, being outscored 382-0 over the course of the season. We did have an extremely tough schedule, with Maidstone our only opponents who did not make the playoffs, and having to play the 2 division 2 finalists 3 times in all.
We did receive a lot of credit for firstly completing all of our games, but also for the spirit with which we played, Mark Blyth (the division 2 director) commented in the Britbowl 2000 program:
"Credit must go to the Kent Exiles who played with guts and determination throughout the season".
The Cardinals, Devils and Sabres all qualified for the playoffs this year, with the Cardinals making it to the final, only to lose to the PA Knights.
